Returned to the restaurant for the first time since Owl Bear folded and Pit Fiend opened, keeping recipes and many touches of the old OB. My grandson and I rated the meats as 10 for 10, and we rate PF among our top five or six in Denver. Pit Fiend delivers in the biggest of ways, well above many barbecue places that speak of themselves in superlatives and just don't bring it home. Lamb is an unusual offering, and the mac and cheese is easily the best in the city. Rice bowls, six meats, mushrooms, soups and stews including Texas chili and Louisiana gumbo are also things you usually don't find elsewhere, as well as eight sauces from across the world.
